🏁On February 19, 1989 the 31st annual Daytona 500 was ran at Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Darrell Waltrip won the race after Ken Schrader won the pole for the second year in a row. The victory was Waltrip’s first (and only) Daytona 500 race win in his 17th try.
