Jan 12, 2021 · The new RTX 3060 is here and looks like a good upgrade for my Alienware X51 (R2). I already have a GTX 1070 ti with 180W TDP and new RTX 3060 is 170W so basically it should fit in a 330W PSU but I remember a bios update was required when GTX 10 series was launched and I'm not sure if RTX 20 or 30 series needed too.

Jun 11, 2018 · In case anybody reads this in the future, I found out the motherboard is a mITX size with model MS-7796 written on it. Cannot find a brand name anywhere. Probably made by Dell exclusively for the X51 R2. The board has one PCI-E 16X slot for the video card (no other PCI-E slots) and one M.2 port that's being used for the WLAN card.
