As OP has pointed out, whereas in the past, the CCP would flat out deny the KMT army's (major) role in resisting Japanese occupation, today it is acknowledged in TV shows, documentaries, museums (even though the KMT of course still plays second fiddle to the Chinese Red Army for obvious reasons).

Aug 17, 2021 · As a fan of Band of Brothers, I really enjoyed The Eight Hundred - the movie pulls no punches when it comes to depicting the brutality of urban warfare, and despite some historical inaccuracies, I found it hard to fault the film. I'd highly recommend watching it and hope it garners more interest in the Asian theatre of WW2. Trailer here. P.S.

Jul 11, 2016 · 0800 means 8:00am. Instead of saying, "I'll see you at zero-eight-zero-zero," they just shorten it to, "Oh-eight-hundred." It's easier to remember and quicker to say. For example, nobody says the full number of the year when we talk about dates. We don't call the year 1995, "Year one thousand nine hundred and ninety five." That's just too long.
