It looks as though Ballistic is using the blueprint Counter-Strike has heralded for over twenty years for Fortnite. With round-based matches, no respawning between rounds, and a performance-based economy, Steam may have another free-to-play contender looking to pinch some of its market share.

Epic Games is about to let Fortnite creators publish experiences with first-person modes, and to help show what’s possible, Epic itself is introducing a tactical FPS shooter that seems like it will play a lot like Counter-Strike or Valorant.

Epic Games clearly wants Fortnite to be everything and anything, and its newest gamemode appears to be a move into the competitive FPS space.
