Celebrini follows Michkov (4-5—9 in 11 GP in October) as a “Rookie of the Month” winner in 2024-25. He is the first Sharks player to receive the honor since center Tomas Hertl in October 2013 (8 3—11 in 13 GP).

Macklin Celebrini came into the NHL with a ton of fanfare as the top pick in the draft and the immediate face of the franchise for the San Jose Sharks. He has a sidekick in Will Smith, another blue chip prospect and hope for the future of the organization who also doubles as his roommate on the road.

Cooper, the longest-tenured coach in the NHL, has been more than impressed with the way Celebrini, now five months removed from his 18th birthday, has been able to impact the Sharks and the NHL at such a young age.
