The suspense over the Chief Minister's post in Maharashtra continues, even seven days after the assembly election results were declared. A high-level meeting was held at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence on Thursday to discuss government formation.

The formal announcement on CM will be done after the BJP legislative party meeting in Mumbai in a day or two after party MLAs appoint the leader of the state legislative party.

After withdrawing from the CM's race, Eknath Shinde said that the modalities of forming the next government will be finalised in the meeting at Delhi on Thursday.
