Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar, on Saturday, cleared the air on the formation of the next Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, saying that it was decided during the meeting that the Chief Minister will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),

The next chief minister of Maharashtra will be from the BJP and there will be two deputy chief ministers from other Mahayuti constituents, NCP chief Ajit Pawar said here on Saturday

Shinde also said that his government's work in Maharashtra in the last 2.5 years will be written in "golden letters in history"

Eknath Shinde announced that the BJP will choose Maharashtra's new Chief Minister, and he will fully support their decision. The Mahayuti alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP retained power in the assembly elections.

BJP leader Raosaheb Danve hinted that the Maharashtra Chief Minister's name has been finalised, while a Shiv Sena leader said Eknath Shinde is expected to return to Mumbai today as government formation hangs in the balance.

The new Mahayuti government is set to be sworn in on December 5 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, Maharashtra BJP unit said.
