U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers made a significant drug bust at the Calexico West Port of Entry on Tuesday, February 18, intercepting more than 47 pounds of narcotics in a single smuggling attempt.

Bringing raw eggs from Mexico into the United States could trigger fines for travelers and endanger agriculture, Customs and Border Protection officials said Thursday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are reminding the public to not bring raw eggs from Mexico into the United States. CBP says the San Diego Field Office has seen a 158% increase in finding eggs at the border since fiscal year 2024.

CBP Officer Manuel Perez Jr., a 32-year-old US citizen originally from California, is allegedly a member of the La Linea, more commonly known as the Juárez drug cartel, investigators said.
