The NFL released the list of finalists for the NFL Coach of the Year honor and, surprisingly, Los Angeles Charger head coach, Jim Harbaugh, was not on it.

Drew Brees left the Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent in 2006, joined the New Orleans Saints, and embarked on an incredible 15-year stint with the franchise.

The Las Vegas Raiders adding head coach Pete Carroll to an AFC West that already includes Andy Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs and Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos is a dominant conversation right now. But Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers don’t need to worry about Carroll and the Raiders nearly as much as the hype makes it seem.

Because the Chargers swept the Broncos this season, they finished one game ahead of them in the standings. That will allow the Broncos to have the No. 20 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and the Chargers will pick at No. 22 . That could be hugely important come late April.
