"In all likelihood, I think Virat Kohli is going to captain that side. That's the feeling I get because they haven't gone for a captain. Unless and until they are going to go with somebody else. After the IPL 2025 mega auction ended, there is a lot of speculation about the new captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). RCB had released Faf du Plessis before the auction, who led the franchise from IPL 2022 to 2024.

Kohli has been with the RCB franchise since the very beginning and has gone up the ranks within the team and in international cricket as well.

R Ashwin has claimed that he can see Virat Kohli return as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025. Kohli relinquished the role as skipper of the franchise in 2022 and is now expected to return after the 2025 auction.
