The Lions won 23-20, nearly blowing a 16-0 halftime lead after a dominating first half, surviving Chicago's late comeback bid.

The Detroit Lions won their 11th game of the season, the best record in franchise history, to overtake the Chicago Bears 23-20.

While honoring the late John Madden with jersey patches on their uniforms, the Lions' defense also pitched a first-half shutout in front of a star-studded crowd, which included actor Tim Allen, rapper Eminem, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, who wore holiday gear in a suite. -- Eric Woodyard

The Lions gutted out a Thanksgiving victory but not before a myriad of players went down with injuries. There will be no mini-bye respite yet as the next game is in seven days on Thursday Night Football vs the Packers.

Today’s win snaps the seven-game losing streak on Thanksgiving, and also matches the team’s longest winning streak set back in the 1934 season at 10.

The Detroit Lions were on their way to a peaceful Thanksgiving Day win over the Chicago Bears. And then the oven caught on fire. After taking a 16-0 lead into the half, Detroit saw defensive starters drop like flies as the Bears chipped away at their deficit before a disastrous end-of-game sequence by Chicago’s offense let Detroit off the hook.
