Teddy Bridgewater is in his 2nd stint with the Detroit Lions as Jared Goff's backup, having retired after the 2023 season and re-signing late in 2024.

The Detroit Lions have chosen veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater over Hendon Hooker to back up Jared Goff against the Washington Commanders.

Bridgewater played for the Lions in 2023 and retired at the season's end before coming out of retirement and re-signing with the Lions on Dec. 26.

Goff went to the locker room in the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion following a brutal hit by Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu.
