As A'ja Wilson's No. 22 jersey was retired by the Gamecocks, coach Dawn Staley made it clear that no South Carolina women's player would ever wear the number again.

In four years at South Carolina, Wilson was a four-time All-American and three-time SEC Player of the Year, and won a national championship in 2017.
