Angry residents called for fresh protests in Spain on Friday as the country marked one month since its worst floods in a generation killed 230 people.The authorities' handling of the disaster prompted trade unions and associations to call for rallies in the hardest-hit areas later on Friday.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Wednesday announced 2.3 billion euros ($2.42 billion) in additional aid to reconstruct Valencia area after the deadliest flash floods in Spain's modern history.

The protest was the second major march of its kind asking for Valencia regional president Carlos Mazón to step down.
