Earlier, General Secretary Of ISKCON Bangladesh Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari had said that the arrested monk had been removed from all positions due to breach of discipline. On this, the group clarified that Das was not an official member of the organisation and it did not attempt to distance itself from him.

In a statement, Iskcon reiterated its commitment to supporting Das and called for the protection of Hindu rights in Bangladesh
