Greenville, TX - A Greenville police officer was shot and killed while chasing a suspect on Monday night. According to the Greenville Police Department, Officer Cooper Dawson stopped a vehicle just before 8 p.m. in the 3500 block of Picket Street. The suspect took off running, and Officer Dawson pursued the suspect on foot.

The death of officer Cooper Dawson marks the first Line of Duty death for the Greenville Police Department in over 100 years.
