Chasing milestone 100th win, skier Mikaela Shiffrin suffered a puncture wound in her abdomen and severe muscle trauma in Saturday's crash.

American ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin crashed after catching an edge in her second run of a World Cup giant slalom race Saturday, did a somersault and wound up in the protective fencing. Shiffrin stayed down on the course for quite some time as the ski patrol attended to her.

Mikaela Shiffrin’s bid to win her 100th World Cup race victory took a hit on Saturday, after the 29-year-old crashed out of the giant slalom during this weekend’s Stifel Killington Cup in Vermont.
