The BBC ‘s beloved Gavin & Stacey sitcom wraps up with the finale on Christmas day and the Beeb has been building buzz with a first-look image of creators James Corden and Ruth Jones alongside Matthew Horne and Joanna Page, who play the titular characters. Joanna Page has revealed that filming the final episode of Gavin and Stacey was an emotional rollercoaster, with the actor confessing to crying daily on set. The 47 year old, who portrayed the beloved character Stacey Shipman, will bid farewell to her on-screen persona in the much-anticipated Christmas special.

In the newly-released image, the four main cast members – James Corden as Smithy, Mathew Horne as Gavin, Joanna Page as Stacey and Ruth Jones as Nessa – have recreated the original artwork which accompanied the very first series, 17 years ago.

Gavin & Stacey then premiered on BBC Three - which was a terrestrial TV channel at the time - on May 13 2007. The second season arrived less than a year later in March 2008. The show then jumped over to BBC One for the third (and then final series) in 2009. It premiered on November 26 2009 and concluded on January 1 2010.
