DALLAS -- Mason Marchment broke a tie at 12:23 of the third period, and the Dallas Stars defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 at American Airlines Center on Sunday.

Mason Marchment scored the go-ahead goal just past the midpoint of the third period and the Dallas Stars went on to defeat the visiting Winnipeg Jets 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Jets fall 3-1 to the Dallas Stars Sunday afternoon in a physical, tightly matchup contest. Both teams didn't give up an inch with both netminders having stellar games with Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck and Dallas' Jake Oettinger both making 27 or more saves.

Mason Marchment scored the winning goal on a spinning backhander with 7:37 to play with an assist from Jake Oettinger, who made 26 saves, as the Dallas Stars beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 on Sunday.

With Winnipeg defenceman Josh Morrissey trying to check him, Marchment spun around to his backhand to whip a shot past goalie Connor Hellebuyck to give the Stars a 2-1 lead, leading to a 3-1 win over Winnipeg in Dallas on Sunday afternoon.
